About Me
Takyra graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in animation. Her focus lies in 2D frame-by-frame animation, but she also enjoys 3D modeling and finding ways to combine both interests. Takyra is passionately working towards her dream of establishing a small art business, with the ultimate goal of creating her own animation studio.
Behind My Thesis
During the summers growing up, my grandmother always found a house to rent or a hotel to stay at by the beach. Everyone would excitedly load up in the car and just as quickly seclude themself in their chosen form of entertainment. After all, the trip was the destination, not the ride. While this might be an exaggeration, these trips are some of my fondest memories, but the older I get, the less frequent they become. In my thesis, I explore the ride as a trip through exaggerated and goofy versions of my family trips. My Thesis is a mixed-media piece to exemplify the emotions of all the different places you'd pass on a road trip that would otherwise be so mundane.
